'It's a patriarchal society and there's a lot of sexism'

Sonam Kapoor and her younger brother Harshvardhan came face to face in a recent interview, during which the leading actor didn't hold back on how sexist Bollywood is.

Harsh, who is set to debut in Mirzya asked a few pressing questions to which Sonam had a flat-out response.

When asked by the younger brother, who has remarkable resemblance with Anil Kapoor, on how comparatively liberating it is for her to make decisions post-Neerja, Sonam responded saying, "Not if you are a woman in this industry".

Sonam said she and Kareena had given women-centric hits such as Ki and Ka, Udta Punjab, and Neerja but the producers would still not invest enough because they are women.


"For example John and Varun, the kind of money they got to make Dishoom is way more than what Kareena and I were getting to make Veere Di Wedding. I hate to say this but I think we have a wider audience and we can open a film as big as them. But because they are men, they will get more money. I find it really disgusting."
