Khuzdar convoy under fire: District council chief escapes attack
However, no one has claimed responsibility of the attack so far
QUETTA:
District council chairman of Khuzdar Agha Shakeel Durrani and his convoy escaped an attack while travelling from Mand to Turbat. Official sources said that Durrani was travelling to Mand to attend the funeral service of Haji Muhammad Akbar Rind. Durrani is the brotherin law of Balochistan’s Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri. Durrani’s convey came under attack when unidentified men opened indiscriminate fire when the convoy reached the Nagi-Darindi area between Mand and Tump. A senior Levies official said the men were hiding in mountains and the Levies personnel travelling with the convoy returned fire. The firefight lasted some time until the armed men retreated and managed to escape in the mountains. The Levies force has started an investigation over the incident. However, no one has claimed responsibility of the attack so far.
