KARACHI:
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has started receiving Rs10 coins from Pakistan Mint from Monday, according to the SBP spokesperson.
However, it may take two weeks before these new coins reach the public because the central bank needs time to supply them to its 16 offices across Pakistan.
“We will announce a date on which new coins will be available to the general public, but it may take two weeks,” the spokesperson said.
Pakistan Mint, a public sector institution, is located in Lahore and is responsible for minting coins and medals for the armed forces and the government. The currency note printing facilities of the government are located in Karachi.
