Cable operators’ patriotism: India’s cultural boycott announced
The chairman also urged local TV channels to stop airing Indian movies and other entertainment programmes
KARACHI:
To show support for the armed forces and Pakistani film actors, cable operators on Sunday announced a cultural boycott of India. Cable Operators Association of Pakistan chairman Khalid Arian made the announcement after leading a rally from Sea View to the Karachi press club. The chairman also urged local TV channels to stop airing Indian movies and other entertainment programmes to show their patriotism. He said Pakistan’s desire peace but this should not be taken as a weakness. He said any aggression by India will be replied in a befitting manner. The participants of the rally raised slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and carried placards inscribed with slogans in support of the armed forces. The participants also torched an effigy of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
