Combating dengue virus: RCB launches fumigation drive

An aggressive approach is being adopted to cope with the situation and to fight against the dengue virus

RAWALPINDI: A fumigation drive is under way in various areas of the Rawalpindi cantonment curb the spread of the dengue virus. According to a Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) spokesman, an aggressive approach is being adopted to cope with the situation and to fight against the dengue virus. On the instructions of CEO Dr Saima Shah, special steps are being taken to control dengue in the cantonment area. The campaign of anti-dengue spray in all cantonment areas will continue till the threat of the disease is over. CEO Dr Saima Shah has said that a large number of tyres have also been confiscated and tyre shops have been fined and issued warnings over uncovered and unpacked tyres, new or used, should not be displayed which leads to spreading of dengue larva.
