Excise rejects work-from-home plan

RAWALPINDI:

The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Dept has declined to implement the govt's petroleum-saving programme that proposes three weekly holidays and work-from-home arrangements.

The DG stated that the depat is responsible for tax collection and has significant targets for property tax, professional tax and vehicle registration tax.

He said if the dept also adopts work-from-home and closes offices for three days, tax collection would not be possible.
