RAWALPINDI:

A young man lost his life while allegedly filming a TikTok video during a train journey, police said on Friday. The body was later shifted to a hospital for a post-mortem examination.

According to police, the incident occurred in the Mandrah police station jurisdiction near Mandrah Railway Station in Rawalpindi district. The deceased, identified as 24-year-old Hasnain Ali, reportedly worked in the scrap trade and was travelling by train from Peshawar to Lahore to visit his parents.

Officials said that while the train was approaching Mandrah Station, the young man was allegedly standing in the doorway of the carriage and recording a TikTok video on his mobile phone. During the process, he is believed to have lost his balance and fallen from the moving train, suffering fatal injuries.

Upon receiving information, Rescue 1122, along with Railway Police Sub-Inspector Raja Arshad and officers from Mandrah Police Station, reached the scene. After completing the necessary legal formalities, the body was transported to a nearby hospital by Rescue 1122 for post-mortem examination.

Police officials said that preliminary findings suggest the victim fell from the train after losing his balance while standing at the doorway and filming a video, sustaining severe head injuries that proved fatal.

The deceased was originally from Sheikhupura, though his parents are currently residing in Lahore. Before the incident, Hasnain Ali had reportedly contacted his family and informed them that he was on his way home.
