Food outlets, milk shops sealed

LAHORE: In the ongoing crackdown against the sale of substandard food in Lahore, the food authorities sealed several outlets over poor cleanliness and adulteration on Saturday.

In Gajumata, officials of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed Al Fazal Foods over lack of sanitation and presence of insects in the cooking area.

In Shalimar Town, Al Qayyum Milk Shop was sealed as records of milk purchase were not available to the officers for inspection. Taya Milk Shop was also closed for selling adulterated milk.

Another eatery Bismillah Bong Paya and Chanay was sealed for not having the records of meat purchases and non-availability of a food licence. Kim’s Dera Restaurant was closed over hygiene issues.

PFA food safety officials also sealed Shahbaz Tea Stall for operating the business without a licence and not having medical certificates of its workers.
