LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the house of Naik Imtiaz Ahmad Shaheed in Faisalabad on Friday to condole with his family. Imtiaz embraced martyrdom when Indian armed forces opened fire on the Line of Control in Kashmir recently.

The chief minister announced the upgrade of a school that will be named after Imtiaz. “The deceased has set an example of bravery by sacrificing his life and the entire nation was proud of him,” he said, adding the Punjab government will do everything to support his family.

Shehbaz also visited the local graveyard at Hajveri Town on Sargodha Road and placed a bouquet and a wreath on the grave of the martyr.

He also offered Fateha and paid homage to the deceased. Shehbaz also said there was a dire need for national unity and solidarity as the country was going through a critical phase.
