LAHORE: The Lahore General Hospital and Jinnah Hospital have been put on high alert for today to cater to any possible medical emergencies arising out of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s anti-government protest.

Located just a few kilometres away from the venue of the rally in Raiwind, both the hospitals have been strictly directed to ensure the availability of medicines to deal with any disaster-like situation.

The health department has also issued standard operating procedures (SOP) to deal with any untoward situation arising out of the rally.

Rescue 1122 and other ambulance services have also chalked out plans to deal with emergency situations in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, doctors and paramedical staff, who have been directed to ensure their presence at hospitals.
