Two suspected gangsters were killed in an encounter with the paramilitary force in Lyari late Wednesday night, a Rangers spokesperson said in a statement.
The shootout between the Rangers and alleged gangsters took place in Sango Lane, according to the statement. The suspects opened fire at the Rangers personnel. After an exchange of fire, two of the suspects were killed.
The accused were identified as Naeem Lahoti and Zeeshan. Other suspects managed to flee, according to the statement.
The Rangers also found weapons and bullets in the possession of the suspects. According to the spokesperson, Lahoti was allegedly involved in a number of crimes.
