Local administration and City Police had placed containers and barbed wires on the Mall Road and all streets connecting Faisal Chowk, thus resulting in increased traffic congestion on the adjoining roads, including Queens Road, Lawrence Road, Fane Road, Temple Road, Mozang Road, Beadon Road, Copper Road, Egerton Road, and Davis Road.
The authorities had left hardly any street open for traffic that resulted in long queues of vehicles, especially during the closing time of schools as vans remained stuck in traffic jams for hours. A mother who was trying to pick her children from Sacred Heart School at Regal Chowk told The Express Tribune that she was stuck in traffic for nearly an hour owing to the ill-planned traffic diversions.
She believed the government or city administration should make plans keeping in mind such situations. “The school administration called me twice saying my children were worried as I could not reach school on time,” she lamented.

Similar remarks were made by several others people who criticised the government and protesters as well.
