Caught red handed: IESCO apprehends 10 power thieves

The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) said on Tuesday that it had caught 10 electricity thieves in the region. An IESCO spokesperson said that eight thieves were caught red handed from Islamabad and two from Jehlum circles. All the culprits were found stealing power through illegal connections (Kunda System) and by tampering with their meters, he added. The official said that FIRs were lodged against these thieves under the new power theft law. He said the IESCO was committed to taking stern action against power thieves across all five regions which IESCO covers.
