One piece three ways: Sana Safinaz

Three fashionistas show us how to put together an item from a designers collection

October 02, 2016

While trends fade, style remains eternal and one piece can be put together in many different ways. In this feature we have three fashionistas showing us how to put together an item from a designers collection, according to their own individual style and taste!

These Sana Safinaz pieces are from the designers’ latest ‘Unstitched Silk Collection’. The fabric in a cool blue and purple tone, has been designed and stitched by Mohsin Ali in three ways, showing the versatility of the print. Whether it is a simple shirt or a trendy high-low top, whether you want to make an elegant evening outfit, or need something cool to wear in the day — this season, get creative with your silk!

My personal style varies, sometimes it’s super sleek and sometimes it’s quite tomboyish, so it just depends on the day and how I’m feeling. I decided to belt this Sana Safinaz shirt, using a navy, satin belt. It was quite loose, and I think the belt gave my outfit some shape. I then wore black flared pants, studded black heels, and a Mulberry clutch. I got a simple blow-dry, straight but with a flick at the end, and for my make-up, I did a glittery eye with winged eyeliner and a little bit of contouring. I accessorised with a silver watch, some silver rings and ear studs. I would wear this outfit to a formal dinner.

I like to make fashion choices that are very simple, yet make a statement. My style is a mix of chic and edgy. So to style this Sana Safinaz outfit, I wore my distressed jeans, and my favourite pair of nude Louboutin sling-back heels. I then carried a red Petite Malle clutch by Louis Vuitton. For jewellery I wore some diamond and ruby earrings, along with some gold and ruby accessories. Shamain did my hair and make-up; she gave me smoky-eyes with lashes and a voluminous blow-dry. I could wear this outfit anywhere from a lunch, to a dinner, or even a party.

Personally, I like to keep it classic and elegant. I wore a printed silk shirt from the latest Sana Safinaz collection over my Zara white flared pants. I accessorised with Chanel earrings, a gold watch, the ‘H Bangle’ by Hermès, and a pearl ring. I then completed my look with a Chanel clutch and nude Louboutin heels. For hair and make-up, I first straightened my hair and used shades of brown to do my eyes. To tie my look together I opted for nude lips, which added a natural affect. I would wear this outfit to a lunch or an evening tea.
