Educate, vaccinate: World Rabies Day tomorrow
Controlling the dog population is essential to prevent rabies
HYDERABAD:
World Rabies Day will be observed in Sindh tomorrow (September 28) to spread awareness regarding the fatal disease. Former Sindh focal person for rabies Dr Masood Ahmed Solangi informed that rabies is a fatal disease that is caused by a virus carried in the saliva of a rabid animal, particularly dogs, which spreads to humans when the animal bites them. Controlling the dog population is essential to prevent rabies as the increasing population of stray dogs is spreading the disease at an alarming rate in Sindh, said Solangi.
