KARACHI:
With his penchant for producing eccentric music, singer-songwriter Taimoor Salahuddin, lovingly called Mooroo, continues to charm audiences with something new every now and then.

These days, the musician is muscling up to release his first-ever album. “The album is coming next month in October and is titled Pehli,” he told The Express Tribune. Revealing more about the nine-track album, he said, “One of the songs is about social issue whereas the others are completely intimate songs that are related to my own life experiences.”

Mooroo also shared that his song Mariam will be featured in the upcoming Umer Adil film Chalay Thay Saath in which he also has a small role. “I have a cameo appearance in the film wherein I sing Mariam which they bought for the film,” he added.

He recently performed at a concert organised by music streaming platform Patari in Karachi. The audience at the low key event consisted of people of all ages. It kicked off with a hilarious introduction of the singer by the host. Mooroo soon pepped up the audience with his famous number Patakhi Larki, making the attendees sway to the catchy rhythm.

Of late, the musician has also begun to regularly create humourous sketches for Facebook and has gained quite a following. “With my experimental nature and stubbornness to do everything people say I can’t do, here I am doing everything.”

Singing praises for Patari, he said, “It is a breath of fresh air. The user interface, the ease of use, everything just ties in together so well. They present the content really well.”

His performances of songs Chai and Ajaa were simply a laugh riot for the audience. Other numbers he sang included Marium, Tasweer, and Kahaani Puraani.
