Runaway Truck: Two killed, 12 injured in road accident
As many as five cars were run over by the truck

Two people were killed and 12 others were injured when a speeding truck plowed into multiple vehicles near Sang Jani Toll plaza on GT Road late on Thursday night. According to the police, as many as five cars were run over by the truck. Initial reports suggested that the truck’s brakes had failed, causing the accident. The injured, some in critical condition, were shifted to different hospitals of twin cities. Given the nature of injuries, rescue officials fear that the casualty figure may rise further. The accident also caused a traffic jam on the busy road which links the twin cities with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Efforts to clear the road were under way.
