Jolted: Earthquake in Nawabshah, Hyd
The tremors left at least one man dead and six injured in the rural parts of Sann town
HYDERABAD:
An earthquake, measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale, jolted many districts of Nawabshah and Hyderabad divisions on Thursday.
According to the meteorological office, the quake’s epicentre lay 60 kilometres northeast of Benazirabad district while the seismic tremors were felt as far away as Dadu, Jamshoro, Hyderabad, Matiari. The tremors left at least one man dead and six injured in the rural parts of Sann town in Jamshoro and Sakrand town in Benazirabad.
The deceased, who belonged to Sann, was identified as 40-year-old Waseem Ahmed. At least five injured persons from both the districts were shifted to Liaquat University Hospital, Hyderabad. They included four women and a man.
