ISLAMABAD:
Citizens on Thursday demanded that the authorities concerned start construction work on the bridge near Bari Imam to facilitate the people residing around the area. They said the bridge was broken from several sides and needed proper repairs of the major cracks which had appeared in the support pillars besides building a protective cemented fence. They said that due to poor condition of the bridge, citizens have to face several hardships as the bridge was in a perpetual state of disrepair. Muhammad Ashraf, a local said that the bridge was the main link for localities of the area. He added that the bridge has apparently completed its life. When contacted Deputy Director, Directorate of Road Maintenance and Repair Work Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) said that the corporation workers will be directed to look after the bridge and it will also be repaired as soon as possible.
