Acknowledgment: FAO’s Dr José to get honorary doctorate

Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Director-General Dr Jose Graziano Da Silva will be given an honorary doctorate in philosophy (PhD) by the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore.
The varsity will award the honorary degree to Dr José for his outstanding contributions in the field of rural development, food security and agriculture.
The UVAS will confer the degree in a ceremony on October 6, said a statement issued by the university management. On Thursday, UVAS Vice-Chancellor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha chaired a meeting and reviewed the preparation for the upcoming event.
Punjab Governor Rafique Rajwana will preside over the ceremony. Federal National Food Security and Research Minister Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan will also grace the occasion.
