FAISALABAD: The National Textile University (NTU) Faisalabad will organise its first national conference on technical textiles. The conference will be held between September 26 and September 27 at the varsity. The initiative will seek to strengthen the textile sector in the national economy.

NTU Spokesperson Dr Yasir Nawab said the role of textile industry in the economy of Pakistan has remained exceptional and efforts made to give priority to this sector through restructuring have shown good results. ”Technical textile is an important area of the sector,” he said. “It needs serious attention.” According to Nawab, it is important for the textile sectors and industries affiliated with it to prepare for an emerging market.



“This is an opportune time for all stakeholders, researchers to industrialists to discuss matters of common interest in technical textiles,” he added.

The objective of the conference is also to enhance interaction between researchers and professionals working in the field of textile engineering. The participants of this conference will have an opportunity to share applied research and recent advancements in technical textiles. This conference will end with panel discussion to have suggestions from the textile expert. Over 50 CEOs and more than 150 technical directors and general managers will participate in the conference.
