PESHAWAR: Counter Terrorism Department nabbed Muhammad Farid, a target killer affiliated with the Islamic State in Pakistan, in the Qazi Kalay area of Faqirabad in Peshawar. Farid confessed to the killing of 15 policemen, slaughtering five call girls and over 32 target killings. Farid was operating under five fake names which included Raja, Sabat, Abdullah alias Sabitay. A CTD official while talking to The Express Tribune said, “He confessed his involvement in 32 target killing cases including 15 policemen and was actively involved in armed robberies to fund his terrorist network.” The official added that Farid had recently pledged his allegiance to IS in Pakistan and previously worked for several banned outfits including the TTP. The CTD official added that the apprehended man was trained in the Jaba Toba area of Afghanistan in 2008 and has been active operator for terrorist organisations since then.
