A blind Indus dolphin, which was stuck in a fishing net in a pond near Chak town of Shikarpur, was rescued and released in the Indus River on Tuesday.
Baby dolphin rescued
According to officials of the WWF-Pakistan, the local fishermen informed them that a blind dolphin got stuck in their fishing net in a pond. Upon receiving the information, a team was sent to the area which rescued the mammal after two hours of effort and then released it back into the Indus River.
Blind dolphin released back into Indus
Sharing information of the rescued dolphin, a senior project officer of WWF-Pakistan, Sukkur, Imran Malik said the dolphin was a three feet and eight inches-long female that weighed around 20 kilogrammes.
