Turkish general meets Gen Raheel, Khawaja Asif

Italian Defence Minister also calls on Army Chief at GHQ

ISLAMABAD: Commander of the Turkish Land Forces General Salih Zeki Colak met Army chief General Raheel Sharif and Defence Minister Khawaja Asif.

General Colak called on General Raheel at the GHQ on Tuesday, according to a press release issued by ISPR. Both the generals discussed wide range of issues of mutual interest including defence, security cooperation, training and measures contributing towards regional stability.

The Turkish General was given a detailed briefing on the operational, intelligence and training aspects of the Pakistani Army. Colak also lauded the unparalleled achievements of Pakistan Army and sacrifices made in fight against terrorism.

General Salih Zeki Colak also met Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and discussed matters of mutual interest.

According to a press release Asif commended the exemplary and historic brotherly relations between the two countries. Asif and Colak also shared the resolve to cooperate with each other in order to effectively face challenges.

The minister also invited the Turkish delegation for IDEAS-2016 which will be held in Karachi from 22-25 November 2016.

Gen Raheel meets defence minister of Italy

Defence Minister of Italy Senator Roberta Pinotti called on General Raheel Sharif at the General Headquarters on Tuesday, according to a press release issued by ISPR. During the meeting matters of mutual interest including defence collaboration and regional security were discussed.

The Italian defence minister lauded the successes and achievements of operation Zarb-e-Azb and acknowledged the resolve and sacrifices of Pakistani nation and Armed forces in the fight against terrorism.
