Attack disrupts gas supply to Hyderabad
Major gas pipeline targeted near Phuleli Bridge in Diya Shah Bukhari area.
HYDERABAD:
A major gas pipeline was targeted near the Phuleli Bridge in Diya Shah Bukahri area of Hyderabad Sunday morning, suspending gas supply to the city for several hours.
Hyderabad DPO Munir Ahmed Shaikh said the police have arrested 12 suspects already.
The pipeline transmits around 34 million cubic feet of natural gas to Hyderabad city daily. Meanwhile rail traffic was interrupted yet again as an explosive device went off on a railway track near Kotri on Saturday. The railway department’s repair teams rushed to the site to fix the damaged portion of track while Hyderabad police raided several areas for the suspects of the blasts and took 10 men into custody.
