MIRPUR: Poor-quality of the development work carried out in New Mirpur City was laid bare by the recent monsoon rains.

Such was the state of affairs that heavy rainwater washed away road-side drains.

Boundary walls of several houses were damaged while many recently constructed structures developed cracks after the land it was built on suffered from soil sinking.

A resident of New Mirpur City told APP on Monday that the recent rains not only exposed the poor quality of the construction work, but also caused huge losses to the people who had shifted into recently constructed houses in various blocks of the new township.
