Tax defaulters: Vehicle checking campaign begins today
A total of 12 teams will be deployed at 48 different spots in the campaign throughout Karachi
KARACHI:
The first phase of a road-checking campaign will start on Tuesday (today) to nab vehicle tax defaulters in Karachi.
While briefing the relevant officers over the final arrangements of the drive, Sindh excise and taxation minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla directed officials not to bear any kind of pressure and take appropriate measures against defaulters as per the law and bring them under the tax net.
“No road should be blocked and the traffic flow should not be hampered,” stated Chawla, directing officers to remain polite during the campaign and to be in uniform.
“Vehicle tax collection is an important feature of the excise and taxation department and we are supposed to meet the target,” he said.
A total of 12 teams will be deployed at 48 different spots in the campaign throughout Karachi.
