Judicial affairs: ATCs asked to clear backlog

Lahore High Court has asked the anti-terrorism courts in the province to clear backlog of cases.
The directive was issued at a meeting chaired by Justice Mehmood Maqbool Bajwa on Saturday. The ATC judges were asked to hold hearing of cases everyday if needed. They were also asked to initiate proceedings for confiscation of properties owned by those declared proclaimed offenders in terrorism cases. The meeting was attended by all ATC judges, the home secretary, the prosecutor general, a member of the CM Inspection Team, the officiating Lahore CCPO and all RPOs in the province. The police officers concerned were asked to make all out efforts to ensure timely completion of investigation.
