‘Fake encounter’: STP demands high-level inquiry
Qadir Magsi accuses Hyderabad police of killing worker
HYDERABAD:
The Sindh Taraqi Pasand (STP) party has accused the Hyderabad police of killing party worker, Gul Muhammad alias Jogi, in a 'staged' encounter last week.
Talking to the media in Tando Allahyar on Thursday, where he condoled with Jogi's family, STP chief Dr Qadir Magsi called for constituting a Sindh High Court justice-led inquiry committee to probe the shootout.
Magsi said the party wants to nominate Hyderabad SSP Irfan Baloch and Phuleli SHO in the FIR.
Jogi was shot and injured in an alleged encounter on September 12. He later succumbed to injuries at the Liaquat University Hospital.
"SSP Baloch is well known for fake encounters. He has killed our worker," alleged Magsi. According to him, Jogi was an Urdu speaking worker of the STP whose elder brother, Ali Muhammad, was killed few years ago by the party's 'enemies'.
Magsi claimed that Jogi was shot dead in an encounter by the Phuleli police in Hyderabad around 36 hours after his arrest.
Separately, STP leaders and workers also protested outside the Hyderabad Press Club, demanding a high-level investigation into the alleged murder of their colleague.
