MQM will be king producers: Sattar

MQM delegation arrives in Lahore, says party will bring revolution to Pakistan.

LAHORE: The MQM is a king making party right now, but in future it will become the king producers party said Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Farooq Sattar on Sunday.

While addressing a gathering at Muslim League House in Lahore, Sattar said the MQM will bring about a revolution in Pakistan.

MQM leader Babar Khan Ghauri, who was also present at the gathering, said those who wanted to create differences among ethnic communities of the country would fail.

Earlier, PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervez Elahi welcomed the MQM leaders to Lahore and appreciated the development work MQM had done in Karachi. PML-Q President Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain also appealed to MQM chief Altaf Hussain to work in the interest of national consensus instead of proceeding with other agendas.

According to an earlier report, The Express Tribune has learnt that the visit of the MQM delegation is part of an understanding the parties have reached for the next general elections, to support one another in Punjab and Sindh.

The problem with our people is, they dont know what they are saying but they have to speak anything which comes in there minds...without knowing the facts n figures.... The industry that left Karachi in the 80s and 90s was as much due to the anti-Karachi policies of Nawaz and Benazir as the violence that was perpetrated here.At long last some well deserved attention was paid to Karachi during the Musharraf era and in that time industry came flooding back. Now Karachi is the most industrialized city of Pakistan by far. Please get your facts straight As far as education goes can you prove thousands of people did what you claimed they did?? True there have been people who got these degrees but same is true everywhere!! In every city of Pakistan. What you say about people from other areas getting degrees here may be true because I know people from other areas were posted in the education department in different institutions for exactly this purpose! This was done to further marginalize to people of Karachi by denying them jobs in their own city! I myself studied in government institutions for most of my student life and so have millions of others who have gone on to do great things for their country. Still today most of the top corporate and bureaucratic positions continue to be occupied by people educated from Karachi

Fahim Khan | 13 years ago | Reply @ Arsalan I am a pashto speaking living in Azizabad the heart of MQM and i am peacefully living there for many years and yes the majority is Urdu speaking but they have been very good its a peaceful area where other non-Urdu speakings live peacefully. On the corner of Mukah chowk there sits an cobller who is pashto speaking and he is been there for quite some years peacefully and no one irks him I have been ever since voting for other than MQM and i had freely expressed my vote there. So please stop unnecessary propaganda against MQM.

Abdul Mannan Lodhi | 13 years ago | Reply MQM MUSLIM LEAGUE Q ALLIANNCE..Alliance between two or more political parties must be welcome if it is for the betterment of the country and solving the problems facing the country.Moves by the MQM to align themselves with the other political leadership of the country and their initiative to contact the Jamati Islami also on national issues is very encouraging.There is no use of blaming one another.Let us all move forward in the interest of the nation.If MQM has been cooperating with a former dictater almost all the political leadrs have been part of the dictatorial regimes at one time or the other.If harm has been done to the interests of Pakistan by military rulers,no less was done to our nation by the so called democracies.Muslim league Q has been part of the previous government. People of Pakistan are well aware of the corruption and bad governance during their rule.So is the case with the Muslim league N.Almost all the political leadership has done nothing for the nation.Pakistan needs a change .Change of the corurpt system.No change of the faces.Of the system.A system in which it becomes impossible fo the corrupt and dishonest to sit on the chairs of the peoples' representatives and rule this country of ours.

Maria | 13 years ago | Reply Unfortunately I don't think that the MQM will ever be able to shake its image as an ethnic party of Indian migrants to Pakistan as long as they have Altaf Hussain as party chief. He simply does not appeal to the larger Pakistani population. If they are serious about changing the nation's perception of the party I would suggest they dump Altaf Hussain and choose someone else- preferably one who lives in Pakistan.

Mulla Toofhan | 13 years ago | Reply The changes bought to Karachi was pretty obvious in my last trip. Fly overs, the clifton beach, the roads were in better shape then 10 years ago. I think if MQM is given a chance, it will definitely do better then the present setup.

It is time for Punjab to welcome MQM with open arms. If this can be achieved we can see better future for Pakistan. MQM is not a party of Landlords and Industrialists, you are right, its not, but its the party which destroyed industial base in Karachi and now want to repeat it in other provinces. Whole industry which moved away from Karachi during eighties and nientees was due to MQM's policies. Fortunately there was no agriculture in Karachi, otherwise they would have done same thing with agriculture too. There is no crime or sin to a be an industrialist or landlord, especially its a blessing to be an industrialist. In today's world, industrialists provide jobs to millions and billions in form of taxes. They are real Wali-ullhas of modern times. You cannot imagine how much pain, endurance, patience, sleepness nights and hardship is needed to become an industrialist. Greatness of great nations lies in their industrial base and industrialists not in so called revolutionaries. As far as your comment regarding fake degrees is concerned, here you are wrong too. Karachi was the most notorious place to get a degree. Thousands of people, who could not get admission in local colleges in their home towns, would go to Karachi and get degree by cheating and other means. No one amongst those people will speak the truth, because all are culprit. I know few people, who went to Karachi for few days, registered themselves in a law college, returned home and only went to appear in exams. They passed exams by cheating and got genuine degrees. This was the standard of education in Karachi. If it was so easy for non Karachites, imagine it for locals. I challange anyone to refute my claim.

Thats really nice and appreciatory. There is literally equality in all workers. They are proving to be different and better rather a lot better than others. My vote next time is definite for MQM
