Against The Move : ANP slams Torkham closure
"Such a move could fuel tension and hate among people of Pakistan and Afghanistan," ANP President Asfandyar Wali Khan
CHARSADDA:
Awami National Party President Asfandyar Wali Khan denounced the closure of the Pak-Afghan border at Torkham and Chaman. According to him, such a move could fuel tension and hate among people of Pakistan and Afghanistan. “The government must review its policies towards Afghanistan,” Asfandyar said while addressing party workers and stalwarts on the eve of Eid at his residence in Wali Bagh, Charsadda. He said Pakistan and Afghanistan are not only two neighbouring countries, but their people had personal relationships with each other. Asfandyar added ongoing terrorism was a conspiracy against Pukhtuns and aimed to keep them away from their right to education, peace and progress. He added the recent attacks on Bacha Khan University and Quetta and Mardan courts were part of such conspiracies.
