Fatalities: Five killed in road accident on National Highway
The police impounded the vehicles but the truck driver escaped
HYDERABAD:
Five persons, including four residents of Punjab, were killed in an accident between a car and truck on the National Highway on Wednesday.
The incident took place near Shahpur Jahania area in Benazirabad district.
According to the police, the truck driver lost control over the vehicle that ran over the car, crushing its roof.
The victims were identified as Liaquat Ali, Muhammad Hashim, Chandi Khanand, Laghari Khan, who were residents of a village near Sadiqabad, Punjab, and Sardar Ali Panehar, a resident of Dahrki in Sindh.
The police impounded the vehicles but the truck driver escaped. Bahawal Khan and Nawab Khan, the relatives of the deceased who received the bodies on Thursday, complained that thousands of rupees and mobile phones that belonged to the victims were missing.
An FIR has yet to be registered.
