ISLAMABAD:
Acting President and Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani telephoned MQM Pakistan leader Dr Farooq Sattar to enquire after his health and well-being. Dr Sattar was recuperating at Liaquat National Hospital Karachi from injuries he suffered when his vehicle overturned on Super Highway. According to an official handout, Rabbani also spoke on telephone with the NHA Chairman Shahid Ashraf Tarrar and shared concerns on the condition of Super Highway which has been dug up at numerous places due to the on-going motorway project. “Super Highway has become a death trap… accidents occur every day and precious lives are lost,” he said. The acting head of state directed the NHA chairman to ensure an early completion of the road building project. In the meantime, he told the NHA boss to ensure that the diversions are properly made and adequate road signs are put up so as to make the superhighway a road for safer travel.
