Encounter: Two dead, as many injured in police raid
The police claimed that Gulu was nominated in 15 police cases
HYDERABAD:
Two suspects were shot dead while one was injured along with a police official in separate police encounters, alleged to be staged shootouts by families of the slain persons, late Sunday night. One of the slain suspects, Zaheer Abbas, was the son of a police constable currently posted at the anti-encroachment cell while the other, Gul Muhammad alias Gullu, belonged to a nationalist political party.
The latter was shot and injured with two gunshots in the encounter in the limits of Phuleli police station. He later succumbed to injuries at the hospital. The police claimed that Gulu was nominated in 15 police cases.
Meanwhile, Site SHO Imran Rasheed sustained two gunshot wounds on his leg in a police raid in Murshidabad locality.
The police said the suspects at the residential unit attacked the police which left Rasheed injured. He has been referred to a hospital in Karachi for surgery.
Police officials said that at least four persons, including Abbas and his father Ghulam Abbas — who was later shown to have been injured in the encounter — were detained from the area.
