District courts: LBA submits suggestions for foolproof security

Representatives of the Lahore Bar Association (LBA) presented their proposals about security for district courts to a judge on Sunday.
District and Sessions Judge Nazir Ahmad Gajana presided over the meeting where security for district courts came under discussion.
Talking to The Express Tribune, LBA Secretary Shahid Nawab Cheema said that lawyers submitted their suggestions to the district and sessions judge. He said the capital city police officer and operations deputy inspector general were also present at the meeting.
Cheema said that LBA representatives suggested installation of tinplate on walls around the courts. He said that walls of the LDA building and civil courts mosque block should be demolished. He said that this area should be converted into a complex and there should be only one entrance and exit. He said that deployment of trained security personnel equipped with the latest weapons also came under discussion. He said the judge accepted LBA’s suggestions and he was hopeful that foolproof security arrangements would be made at the courts at the earliest.
