LAHORE:
The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) on Saturday finalised a plan to provide rescue and relief services during Eidul Azha holidays. The strategy was made at a meeting chaired by Rescue 1122 Director General Arshad Zia. Leaves of rescuers have been restricted. As many as 7,000 emergency medical technicians, firefighters and wireless operators would be on duty during the holidays. Ambulances and fire tenders would be deployed at major Eid congregations. Mobile posts of emergency paramedics will also be set up at such gatherings. Zia directed district emergency officers to organise meetings with mosque committees and ensure that local volunteers were available in case of any emergency in their areas. District control rooms will remain functional round the clock. In Lahore, 29 ambulances, 16 fire tenders, two water bowsers and a water rescue vehicle will be operational. The director general wished citizens a safe Eid and advised them to drive safely.
