Provinces dilly-dallying over deployment of CPEC force
“China, to boost cooperation with Pakistan in the technical and vocational sector, would establish TVET institutes at Gilgit, Mansehra, D I Khan, Abbottabad, Quetta and Gwadar,” he said.
He said NAVTTC, as an advisory body to the federal government on TVET, had taken vital initiatives to introduce reforms in the current technical and vocational system of Pakistan. “The Commission has initiated some new steps including the establishment of Job Placement Centre and introducing competency-based training throughout the country.”

Cheema urged the two countries to enhance cooperation to reboot the TVET system in Pakistan. “The CPEC would open new vistas of prosperity and development and offer enormous employment opportunities for the people of Pakistan; it is a living reflection of a strong Pak-China bond and would serve geo-strategic interests of both the countries,” he said.
The NAVTTC Executive Director further said the skilled youth was the most powerful tool for poverty alleviation and could play an important role in the socio-economic development of the country.
