Media authority: PEMRA eyes action against illegal DTH
Pemra adds two more clauses in its DTH licensing rules

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) added two
more clauses in its DTH licensing rules.
Now, the license holder will provide its platform to all of the authority’s lisence holder TV channels and landing right permission holders without any discrimination and run all channels of a category at one place.
According to a press release, the meeting was also briefed about the implementation of strategy against illegal Indian DTH.
The Chairman Pemra also briefed the members about the press briefing of 31 August, in which the deadline of 15 October was announced for stopping illegal activities, including sale, import or smuggling of DTH equipment.
Pemra has already sent letters in this regard to all provincial governments and federal institutions, including PTA, FBR, FIA and the State Bank of Pakistan.
