LAHORE: The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has announced to observe a black day on Thursday to condemn the recent suicide blasts in Quetta and Mardan and to honour the memory of those who lost their lives in the two attacks.

SCBA president Syed Ali Zafar said on Tuesday that a silent prayer would be held at 1115am simultaneously at all bars of the country, including Pakistan Bar Council, provincial bar councils of Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and high court bar associations of Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Balochistan and Peshawar.

Zafar said the bar would also honour the memory of constable Junaid Khan who had laid down his life in the line of duty in Mardan. He said Khan’s sacrifice had saved hundreds of other lives. He urged the KP chief minister to announce compensation for the deceased constable’s family. He said a prominent road in Mardan should be named after him.
