Inam said the ministry hoped soon Malakand district will be free from dengue
BATKHELA:
Two more cases of dengue were reported in Batkhela, increasing the total number of patients to 89, reported from August till now.
This was said by the focal person for dengue prevention programme, Dr Tanvir Inam, on Monday.
“One of the patients is a woman while the other one is a child,” he said while talking to journalists. “We have also arranged awareness sessions for the public to control the larva and have also sprayed the most vulnerable areas.”
He added a state of emergency in all the hospitals of the district has been imposed. “[In August] we had 42 patients from upper Batkhela, 13 from Aala Dand and 11 from Tutakan, Malakand Khass and central Batkhela.”
He added they have also arranged special wards in hujras situated in the areas that have been affected the most. “We have also cancelled the holidays of all the medical staff in the district on the orders of the health ministry.”
