Red carpet round-up: Besties step out in style

Here’s how the duo were dressed to impress

The new documentary, Franca: Chaos and Creation, tells the story of Italian Vogue’s legendary editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani. Therefore, it’s no surprise that a bevy of the world’s fashion elite turned up for its premiere at the ongoing Venice Film Festival. Chief among them were Donatella Versace and supermodel Naomi Campbell, both of whom walked hand-in-hand and looked stunning in black Versace gowns. Here’s how the duo were dressed to impress, as compiled from Instyle.

Naomi Campbell

The 46-year-old British supermodel risked a wardrobe malfunction as she graced the red carpet in a floor-length, black Versace gown that featured a plunging neckline and a sultry, thigh-high slit. The daring gown showed exactly why Campbell is one of the world’s most sought-after models: it cinched at her waist, showing off every inch of her toned physique without appearing vulgar on any level. The starlet styled her long black hair straight and rocked a gorgeous red lip that complemented the red satin lining beneath her dress.

Donatella Versace

Proving age is just a number, the 61-year old fashion designer opted for a shinier look with a long black sequined PVC gown. Designer by Versace herself, the dress featured intricate cut-outs on the front. Her signature platinum blonde strands were styled naturally and she finished off the look with smoky eyes and a nude pout, looking on point for the occasion.
