KARACHI: Kaleidoscopic-coloured flowers of at least 200 local and international varieties went on display at the second annual flower exhibition at Nazeer Hussein Park, more commonly known as Bi Amma Park. The three-day exhibition was organised by New Karachi Town Municipal Administration and was inaugurated on Friday.

Hundreds of people visited the park, which was adorned not just with flowers but stalls selling stationery, cosmetics, garments, ceramics and food.

“The exhibition is more than a social event. It is a message to the terrorists that healthy activities would continue,” said New Karachi Administrator Syed Kamal Ahmed.

He said that this year the TMA has planned to promote the art of flower cultivation.

It took four months to fix a date for the exhibition.

“It is a good opportunity to spend time in a secure environment and it also gives us an opportunity to connect with nature,” said another visitor, Khadija.
