Busted: 25 cranes, quails seized in DI Khan

At least 25 cranes and hundreds of quails have been seized by the wildlife department in separate parts of DI Khan on Sunday.
This was said by DI Khan Deputy Forest Officer Sardar Shahjil Khan Baloch while speaking to journalists on the same day.
“Acting on a tip off, wildlife officials flagged down a vehicle at Daraban check post and seized 25 cranes that were being smuggled from Balochistan to Lakki Marwat,” he said.
Baloch added officials arrested the smugglers and started an investigation against them. “The wildlife department officials freed the cranes in a wildlife park situated near DI Khan,” he said
According to the deputy forest officer, the wildlife department will not allow anyone to indulge in illegal hunting and will take action against those who violate rules.
Separately, wildlife department officials foiled a bid to smuggle quails to Peshawar. Hundreds of quails were put in five boxes that were later confiscated by wildlife department officials.
