Nawaz Sharif inaugurates 40MW coal fired power project in Faisalabad

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday claimed the national flag carrier is on the path of revival.

Addressing a ceremony held at the inauguration of a 40MW coal fired power project in Faisalabad, the premier lauded Pakistan International Airlines recently launched premier service.

"“It is my resolute plan to bring PIA at par with the world’s finest airlines and work has already begun on this plan. PIA’s recently launched premium service is an example of this and I hope people will also play a constructive role in sustaining it,” PM Nawaz said.

Further, the PM said 2018 will be the year of end of load shedding in the country. “Government is heavily investing in energy sector to rid the country of energy deficit by 2018."

“Commissioning of this Power Plant is a step towards achieving self-reliance in power generation. Such initiatives by the Private sector are extremely encouraging and will prove helpful in overcoming the energy shortage in the country,” the premier said.

According to Radio Pakistan, a policy of energy-mix that focuses on diverse sources of energy is earnestly pursued at the government level.

The 40 MW coal power plant at Sitara Chemical Industries Ltd is the largest of its kind in the industrial sector of Faisalabad. The plant’s boiler is based on circulating fluidized bed combustion technology having the best automation system.

“The present government has made tireless efforts to provide a conducive environment for the business community to accelerate economic activities in the country,” the prime minister said.

Humza | 7 years ago | Reply @Khalid Khan: Disagree with anything you want but people are paying top dollar to buy tickets for this service. As long as it makes money and turns the fortunes of PIA around, that's all that matters.
