SUKKUR: A lady health worker was shot at and injured on Thursday by unidentified men while she was administering polio drops in Lahori Muhalla, situated within the limits of the Civil Lines police station in Larkana.

The victim, identified as Sughra Lashari, was administering polio drops along with other lady health workers when four armed men on two motorcycles opened fire at her and fled.  Lashari was immediately rushed to Chandka Medical College Hospital, Larkana, where the doctors said she is in stable condition.

Speaking to the media, Lashari alleged that a man named Kashif Khokhar and his friends orchestrated the attack. She claimed that Khokhar wanted to marry her but she refused the proposal due to which he shot her.

When contacted, Civil Lines police station head constable Raza Muhammad Sargani said that Sughra is recovering in the hospital while the police have arrested the key suspect, Khokhar.
