SUKKUR:
The Sukkur police recovered on Wednesday the body of a young man from within the limits of the SITE police station. The man had eloped with his cousin but was allegedly killed by the woman's family.

Fifteen days ago, Behram Lashari and S*, both residents of Lashari Goth near Warah, Kamber-Shahdadkot district, eloped. S's parents pressurised Behram's parents, who asked their son to hand over the woman to the community elders, which he did.

SHO Mahar told The Express Tribune that 15 days ago, S, daughter of Allah Rakhio Lashari, and Behram, son of Gehno Lashari, eloped, sparking anger among the community's elders. He said the man was asked to bring the woman back, which he did.

According to Mahar, S called Behram last Friday, after being pressurised by her parents, and asked him to come to Rohri railway station, claiming that she had once again run away from home. When Behram arrived at the station, he was nabbed by the girl's brother and other relatives, who took him to SITE and murdered him. He said the woman's parents later informed the man's family about his murder and told them where he was buried.

Acting upon a tip-off, Rohri SHO Jahangir Mahar, along with a police team, reached the site and found the man's half-buried body. It was transported to Rohri taluka hospital for post-mortem.

Behram's brother, Karim Bux Lashari, informed the police and when the officials arrived at the location, they found that the body had been 'eaten' by dogs. "After shifting the body to Rohri taluka hospital, we raided their village near Warah and arrested three suspects - the girl's brother, Azizullah Lashari, and two cousins, Zameer Lashari and Gulzar Lashari," said the SHO. Raids are being conducted to arrest the remaining accused and recover the woman in question, he added.
