Incarcerated mayor: JIT formed to probe sedition cases
JIT will interrogate the matter within seven days and submit the report within two days

A joint interrogation team (JIT) was constituted by the government to interrogate newly-elected Karachi mayor Wasim Akhtar on the recommendation of an AIG on Wednesday. According to a notification, an SSP rank officer will head the JIT, while representatives of ISI, MI, IB, Rangers, Special Branch and CTD will be included in it. According to the notification, the JIT will interrogate the matter within seven days and submit the report within two days from the date of completion. The JIT will probe the sedition cases registered against Akhtar at the Malir and Sachal police stations.
