Harassment complaint: ‘Approach justice of peace for relief’

The petitioner said she had filed an application with the police officer concerned

LAHORE:
Lahore High Court on Tuesday dismissed a petition submitted by a transgender person seeking action against some officials of the Nasirabad police station for allegedly sexually harassing her and snatching her money. The judge asked the petitioner’s counsel to approach the justice of peace for redress of her grievance. Petitioner Resham submitted that a few days ago some policemen took her to the Nasirabad station where they detained her for several hours. She said she was sexually harassed and robbed of money she had collected by begging on the streets. The petitioner said she had filed an application with the police officer concerned. However, no action was taken on her complaint, she added.
