Inspection: MNAs visit Kot Lakhpat Jail
DIG Prisons Malik Mubashir briefed Khan and other members of the committee about various facilities for prisoners

Babar Nawaz Khan, chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Human Rights and Minorities, on Tuesday expressed his satisfaction with the conditions at Kot Lakhpat Jail and asked other provinces to adopt the Kot Lakhpat Jail model. During a visit to the jail, he said that a law should be enacted to remove the code from the educational certificates that showed the candidate took the examination in jail. He said the jail administration had installed a water filtration plant and public call office to facilitate prisoners.
Prisons Deputy Inspector General Malik Mubashir briefed Khan and other members of the committee about various facilities for prisoners at the jail. He said the Prisons Department had launched a technical training programme for inmates in collaboration with the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority.
