QUETTA: The police found two more bullet-riddled bodies of Baloch political workers in the Herrnok area, about 50 kilometres off Turbat city in Kech district, on Thursday.

According to officials, some passers-by spotted the bodies along the main road and informed the Turbat Levies station.  The bodies were then shifted to Civil Hospital Turbat where they were identified as Abdul Qayyum, central committee member of Baloch Student Organisation (BSO-Azad), and Jamil Yaqoob, member of Balochistan National Party (BNP) Turbat chapter.

“Both victims had bullet wounds in their head and neck, and the bodies bore marks of torture,” sources at the hospital told The Express Tribune.

Family members said that Qayyum was whisked away from his residence in Gwadar during a raid on December 11, accusing security personnel of arresting and killing him.

Jamil Yaqoob, an activist of BNP, was also kidnapped from his residence in October. His family members also accused security agencies of killing him during illegal detention. The bodies were handed over to their heirs in Turbat and Gwadar for burial.

The incident sparked protest in different towns including Turbat, Khuzdar, Awaran, Mashkey and Gwadar where businesses and trade activities came to a halt. “As many as 95 bullet-riddled bodies of Baloch missing persons have so far been found during the last seven months,” Nasrullah Baloch, chairman of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons said.
